Odisha Extends Jashoda and Ashirbad Schemes for Vulnerable Children

Odisha State Cabinet approved continuing Jashoda scheme and its sub-scheme Ashirbad for five more years. This covers 2026-27 through 2030-31. The decision provides ongoing support for children who lost their parents or live in difficult conditions.

Scheme Funding and Support

The government set aside a budget of ₹296.99 crore for this period. Women and Child Development Department will manage the money. These schemes help children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through technical education, coaching, and monthly cash benefits sent directly to bank accounts. The government continues to focus on the health, education, and safety of these young citizens.
