Odisha Cabinet Approves Major Infrastructure and Semiconductor Policy Updates

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a cabinet meeting where 10 proposals were cleared to help the state's industrial and agricultural sectors. A main point is the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Project, which has received ₹12,458 crore to improve water access for farmers. Also, the government set aside ₹883.50 crore for child welfare schemes and ₹389 crore for the third phase of tank and minor irrigation project improvements.

The cabinet approved the third amendment to the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy. This update matches the state rules with the national India Semiconductor Mission 2.0. By offering money support of 25% of required capital spending, Odisha is becoming a serious player in the semiconductor supply chain, including equipment and advanced materials manufacturing.
