Odisha Agriculture Officer Arrested for Bribery
Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Byomkesh Mishra, Chief District Agriculture Officer of Brahmapur, on August 12, 2026. He was caught taking a bribe of ₹15,000 from a person.
The person had waited two months for his file to move under the Integrated Farming Systems part of Mukhya Mantri Krushi Udyog Yojana. The officer asked for this money to release the subsidy, which covers 50 percent of farming investments.
Investigation details
After the arrest, officials registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. They are now searching three locations linked to the officer to look for illegal assets.
