New Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme Launched for FY 2026-31

Government launched Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme to increase local electronics production. This scheme runs from FY 2026-27 to FY 2030-31 and replaces the previous PLI scheme. It aims for ₹39 lakh crore in production and 60,000 direct jobs over the next five years.

Scheme Incentives and Eligibility

Large-scale manufacturers get a 2.25% to 5% incentive. Indian brands receive a 5% base incentive with an extra 3% for local design and research work. Companies can also get up to 1.5% more for sourcing parts locally. To apply, large manufacturers need a turnover of ₹10,000 crore. Indian brands need a ₹1,000 crore turnover. This policy helps keep more production value in India by supporting local ownership and design.
