National Vendor Meet Held to Boost Rooftop Solar in West Bengal

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) and REC held a National Vendor Meet in Kolkata on August 17, 2026. This meeting helped speed up rooftop solar panel setups under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

Meeting details and objectives

Santanu Basu, Principal Secretary of the Power Department, led the event. He talked about the need for better teamwork between state and national vendors to reach installation goals. REC officials, who run the scheme, asked brand owners to grow their partner networks across the state. They also promised to help fix any problems for users and vendors to make the scheme work well.
