National Vendor Meet Held in Kolkata for PM Surya Ghar Yojana

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and REC Ltd. held a National Vendor Meet in Kolkata on August 13, 2026. The meeting aimed to support the rollout of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in the state. Shri Santanu Basu, Principal Secretary of the Power Department, led the session with other officials.

Solar energy expansion

The meeting focused on rooftop solar adoption by solving installation problems and improving teamwork between DISCOMs and vendors. REC Ltd. officials asked brand owners to grow their partner networks and add more staff to finish installations faster. They also talked about vendor rating, quality checks, and training to make sure households get solar energy systems quickly.
