National Teachers Awards 2026 to be conferred on September 5

President Droupadi Murmu will honour 48 school teachers with National Teachers Awards 2026 on September 5. This event happens at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi for Teachers Day. These teachers were chosen through a three-stage process covering district, state, and national levels.

Award Details

The list includes 26 men and 22 women from 27 states, seven Union Territories, and six central government organisations. Department of School Education and Literacy handled the selection. It started with online self-nominations held from June 15 to July 20. You can watch the event live on Doordarshan or the SWAYAM PRABHA channels of Ministry of Education.
