MNRE Mandates Domestic Data Storage for Solar Inverters
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has set a new rule for solar inverters under PM Surya Ghar Scheme. From 21 August 2026, all data from these inverters must stay within India.

This decision helps improve national cybersecurity and keeps data within our borders. Storing monitoring data on local servers strengthens the security of renewable energy systems. This is a big step for keeping sensitive information safe as solar energy use grows across the country. It makes sure our infrastructure stays secure.
