MNRE Deactivates 66 Vendors Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy took action against 66 registered vendors under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. These vendors cannot accept new applications for one month because of a backlog of pending rooftop solar installations. Ministry officials noted this practice as artificial hoarding, which slows down subsidy payments and limits choices for families.

Vendor responsibilities

Affected vendors must finish pending applications within 30 days to work again. Although they cannot take new work, they still have portal access to finish current projects. Government officials issued a clear warning, stating that vendors should not hold consumer applications for more than 60 days without a valid reason. This decision helps speed up solar installations as the scheme timeline closes in less than nine months.
