MERC Allows MSEDCL to Encash 6.65 Crore Bank Guarantee

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) allowed MSEDCL to use a Performance Bank Guarantee of about ₹6.65 crore. This affects a 133 MW solar project built under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 and PM-KUSUM scheme.

Project developer issues

Parmeshi Urja Limited asked for protection from this action. They mentioned delays in getting funds and trouble finding solar modules that meet DCR rules. Even so, the Commission decided the developer did not show major issues like fraud or unfair harm. MERC said this order only covers the bank guarantee. It does not decide on project deadline disputes or force majeure claims. These topics will be looked at later.
