Maharashtra to use corpus fund for organ transplants

Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Abitkar has told officials to use the state fund for organ transplant surgeries. This helps poor families when treatment costs are more than what other government schemes cover. Financial support now covers the remaining cost so eligible people get life-saving treatment.

Expanding medical services

The state is also working with Ruby Hall Clinic to grow medical services. Plans include a new diagnostic center in Gargoti, Kolhapur. This center will provide affordable CT scans, X-rays, and other tests for people living in Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka. Also, the government is looking at ways to offer proton therapy for cancer patients in Pune at lower costs. Heart and cancer treatments will still be provided under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
