Low NCDC Funding for Women Cooperatives in Gujarat
Gujarat received only ₹1.01 crore in money help for women cooperatives from the National Cooperative Development Corporation over the last five years. Data shared in the Rajya Sabha shows a big difference compared to other states. Gujarat got ₹25 lakh in 2025-26 after receiving zero funding in 2024-25.
Even with support available through schemes like Swayam Shakti Sahakar Yojana, Nandini Sahakar Scheme, and Yuva Sahakar Yojana, the state's share stays very small. For comparison, Andhra Pradesh got ₹4,200 crore in 2025-26. These central schemes offer working capital and term loans to eligible women-led cooperatives. Gujarat has not used these funds in a way that shows steady growth.
