Gujarat Extends Housing Loan Penal Interest Waiver Until 2027

Homeowners in Gujarat can take note of a new update. State government officials extended the deadline for the 100 per cent penal interest waiver scheme to January 31, 2027. This help applies to pending payments under Gujarat Rural Housing Board Hire-Purchase Scheme, including EWS, LIG, MIG, Competitive, and Cash Loan groups.

Payment and business support updates

During the first phase, 2,988 families cleared their dues and saved Rs 39.51 crore in interest. If you have pending payments, this is a chance to get your Loan Clearance Certificate. Also, the state is supporting local businesses through Shravan Utsav which runs until September 7, 2026. This program gives market access to Sakhi Mandal women under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission. It helps them sell handicrafts and food products directly at fairs.
