Gujarat Establishes Monitoring Unit for PM-AJAY Welfare Schemes

Gujarat government has launched a state-level project management unit to manage Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana. This scheme helps improve the social and economic standing of Scheduled Caste communities in the state.

Following rules from the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment in June 2026, this unit will track scheme progress and improve teamwork between departments. A committee is also being formed to hire key staff, such as a state social justice lead and coordinators. This structure will help fix implementation gaps and make sure welfare benefits reach eligible people on time.
