Government Focuses on Entrepreneurship Over Government Jobs

Union Minister Jitendra Singh recently pointed out the government effort to move the youth mindset away from looking only for Sarkari Naukri. By promoting self-employment through many schemes, the government wants to encourage a culture of new ideas and business ownership.

Growth in Startups

India now ranks third in the world with about 2.40 lakh recognized startups. This is a big jump from just 350 in 2014. Key schemes supporting this move include Startup India, Stand-up India, PM Mudra Yojana, PM SVANidhi, and PM Vishwakarma.

Under PM Mudra Yojana alone, about ₹38 lakh crore has been paid to people. Women received nearly 60 percent of this support. These steps are part of a plan to help the youth contribute to the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. The government continues to encourage young Indians to look at different career paths beyond traditional government jobs.
