Goa Launches Education Loan Scheme for OBC and Other Groups

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched Mukhyamantri Bahujan Utkarsh Yojana to help students with higher education. This scheme provides education loans of up to ₹25 lakh at a 4% interest rate.

Eligibility and Application

This scheme is for students from OBC communities, EWS families, minorities, and people with disabilities. It helps those who cannot apply for Manohar Parrikar Goa Scholars Scheme or the Manohar Parrikar interest-free scheme.

Apply for this loan through Goa State Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation Limited. Standard banks often charge 8% interest for such loans, so this 4% rate is helpful. Make sure to repay the loan on time so these funds stay available for other students.
