EPFO Higher Pension Update: 1.49 Lakh PPOs Issued

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has released an update about the higher pension option. As of now, 1,49,806 Pension Payment Orders have been issued to eligible people. This follows the Supreme Court judgment from November 4, 2022, which allowed members to choose a pension based on higher wages.

Official records show that 15,24,365 claims were received. Although many applications are processed, 11,595 claims were pending on August 5, 2026. Note that applying does not guarantee a PPO, as EPFO must check contribution history and eligibility first.

If you have received a demand letter, pay the required amount quickly to avoid delays. You can track your application status through the official EPFO portal or the UMANG app. Keep your UAN and PPO details ready. Do not use unofficial agents for pension questions.
