Empowered Committee Reviews Growth Proposals for Women-Led Rural Enterprises

Ministry of Rural Development recently held a meeting to review new proposals under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). Committee head Rohit Kansal looked at ways to help small self-help group businesses grow into larger companies.

The team reviewed four new incubator proposals for Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. These will work with top schools including IIT Patna, IIM Jammu, IIM Lucknow, and IIT Gandhinagar.

Expanding rural support

This scheme will help over 600 high-potential businesses through better mentoring, financial planning, and market access. This work supports the national goal of creating 6 crore Lakhpati Didis. The committee also talked about expanding Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme in West Bengal and Goa to help the rural non-farm economy.
