Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Records Over 9 Lakh Registrations Ahead of Launch

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will launch on August 26. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will give sanction letters to 4,000 women at Talkatora Stadium. By noon on August 25, the portal had 913,495 registrations, and 652,223 applications were submitted.

Scheme details

This scheme, earlier called Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, provides Rs 2,500 per month to eligible women through DBT payment. The government set aside Rs 5,100 crore for this. Eligible women will get the first payment starting September 1. This scheme helps with income support, but it faces legal questions about specific eligibility rules like residency and required political sign-offs.
