Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: First Installment to be Disbursed on September 1

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently gave out approval letters to 4,190 women for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. This scheme helps provide money safety to women aged 21 to 60. Eligible women will get monthly support of ₹2,500 from September 1, 2026, sent directly to their bank accounts. The government splits the payment so ₹1,000 goes to digital wallets for daily needs, and the rest is saved in fixed or regular accounts.

Scheme registration and status

More than 9 lakh women have already signed up for the scheme. While the government is busy with payments, Delhi High Court has asked officials to submit a statement within 10 days about the need for an MP or MLA letter for applicants. First mentioned in the election promise as Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, this work remains a main priority for the current government.
