Defence Production Growth and New Tank Overhaul Facility

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India's defence production grew four times to about 1.8 lakh crore rupees in the last ten years. Exports rose to nearly 39,000 crore rupees, with a target to reach 50,000 crore rupees by the 2028-29 fiscal year.

New facility at Vehicle Factory Jabalpur

During his visit to Vehicle Factory Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, the Minister laid the foundation stone for a 472-crore rupees facility to overhaul T-series battle tanks. This project will overhaul 80 T-72 and T-90 tanks each year to fix current maintenance gaps. Self-reliance in the defence sector is a top priority as the government focuses on making, fixing, and upgrading military hardware at home.
