Chhattisgarh Transfers Rs 631 Crore Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Before Rakshabandhan, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai released the 31st payment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana. On August 25, 2026, ₹631 crore 38 lakh 37 thousand 700 went directly to the bank accounts of 67,28,918 eligible women. This payment includes the September amount, sent early to help families with festive costs.

Scheme impact and reach

During a ceremony in Balod district, the Chief Minister said around ₹20,000 crore has been sent under this scheme over the last two and a half years. These funds help women pay for household costs, education, and health needs. The government also noted that 13.85 lakh women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis. Also, the Drone Didi scheme helps self-help groups earn more money by using modern farming technology.
