Chhattisgarh Increases Student Intake for Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana

Chhattisgarh government has doubled the number of students who can join Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana, from 100 to 200. This scheme provides free residential schooling for children of registered construction workers from Class 6 to 12. Students can study at private schools such as Delhi Public School and Rajkumar College.

Scheme support and recent payments

Labour Department runs this scheme using welfare board funds to help labor families cover education costs. Officials also confirmed a recent DBT payment of ₹39.67 crore to 1,45,841 registered workers. Over the last two-and-a-half years, the state has paid out more than ₹774 crore through 67 different welfare programs. These programs provide support for healthcare, pensions, and skill training.
