Bihar Speeds Up Ration Card Issuance and Solar Installations

Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit told officials to speed up work on ration card applications and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. A recent check showed 1,183,792 ration card applications are eligible. Data entry is only at 35 percent. Officials now need to finish the pending e-KYC work quickly.

Solar subsidy update

The state government approved an extra subsidy of up to ₹20,000 for each person. This brings total support to ₹40,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹80,000 for 2 kW, and ₹98,000 for 3 kW setups. The state plans to help 5 lakh people with a budget of ₹1,000 crore.

Action was taken against Landsky Engineers Pvt. Ltd. for poor performance, and their contract is canceled. Field teams are working to meet daily installation goals set for November 2026.
