Bihar Expands Rural Road Network to 1.21 Lakh Habitations
Bihar connected 1,21,675 habitations with paved rural roads. The state finished over 1,20,948 km of road construction to provide all-weather access for remote areas. Rural Works Department officials confirmed that work continues to reach the target of 1,29,990 habitations.
Rural road project details
For the 2026-27 financial year, the government set a goal to connect an additional 3,161 habitations using 9,264.54 km of new roads. These efforts under Mukhyamantri Gram Sampark Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana help improve local trade, health services, and education for rural residents.
