Bihar Cabinet Extends Student Credit Card Scheme Till 2030-31, Approves 27 Proposals

Bihar Cabinet approved 27 proposals on Wednesday. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary chaired the meeting. Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme has been extended for five years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31. Students can get education loans up to Rs 4 lakh through Bihar State Education Finance Corporation.

Other decisions by Cabinet

Mukhyamantri Samagra Shahari Vikas Yojana also gets a five-year extension until 2030-31. Cabinet approved Rs 40 crore to maintain Bihar Museum and Patna Museum in 2026-27. It also approved Rs 39.80 crore for widening Nehru Path in Patna from Dak Bungalow Crossing to Rukunpur.

Under Saat Nischay-3, Bihar State Goat Rearing Cooperative Federation Limited will be set up with an outlay of Rs 14.795 crore for 2026-27 to 2028-29. Cabinet also created 14 EBC posts in Home Department and 16 Office Attendant posts in General Administration Department. Poonam Sinha gets a one-year contractual appointment as Director after retirement, effective September 1.

August 23 will now be observed as a state-level function in Sitamarhi for Ramphal Mandal's martyrdom day. It will also be observed in West Champaran for Pandit Rajkumar Shukla's birth anniversary.
