Bihar Announces Additional Rooftop Solar Subsidy

Bihar residents can now get more support when switching to solar energy. The state cabinet has approved an extra subsidy of ₹10,000 per kW for rooftop solar installations. This adds to the existing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, giving consumers a total benefit of up to ₹20,000.

This money help is sent through DBT payment. If you combine this with the central subsidy, households can get up to ₹98,000 for a 3 kW system. The state has set aside ₹1,000 crore for this scheme, which will run for one year. Also, the government is providing free land for 25 years to major oil companies. These companies will build Compressed Biogas plants in Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, and Biharsharif.
