Assistive Devices Worth Rs 62.24 Lakh Distributed in Kohima

District Administration and District Social Welfare Office in Kohima worked with ALIMCO to hold a distribution event for Divyangjan and senior citizens on August 17, 2026. This support came through ADIP Scheme and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana.

671 people received items worth about ₹62.24 lakh. The kit included 390 wheelchairs, 500 walking sticks, 100 hearing aids, and other gear for mobility. Advisor for School Education, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, joined the event. He talked about the need for better social inclusion and making sure government funds reach rural areas.

Details on the distribution process

People were picked for the support after assessments done from July 1 to July 6, 2026. More items are being given out at Chiephobozou, Jakhama, and the local Social Welfare Office. Eligible people can contact these places for further updates.
