Assam Government Highlights Women Empowerment Progress

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared updates on state progress during the first 100 days of NDA 3.0. Government work focuses on helping women through different schemes. Lakhimi Mistri initiative has trained over 6,875 women as rural masons for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. Also, Swanirbhar Naari program helped 1,051 weavers and 60 entrepreneurs, with ₹1.33 crore released for their work.

Education and Health Support

Education is a top priority to stop child marriage. Nijut Moina scheme will help 5.16 lakh girl students in 2026-27. Mothers get cash help via Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, which sent ₹23.26 crore to 78,490 people. Assam's Maternal Mortality Ratio dropped to 84, which is lower than the national average of 87.
