APSPDCL Achieves Milestone in Rooftop Solar Connectivity

APSPDCL connected 50,000 rooftop solar systems to the power grid for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households. This makes it the first power company in Andhra Pradesh to hit this target under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

The scheme targets 2.07 lakh households across nine districts, including Tirupati, Chittoor, and Kurnool. The total planned capacity is 415 MW. So far, systems with a combined capacity of 203.95 MW are running in 1.01 lakh homes. APSPDCL has set a deadline for the end of August to finish the remaining work. This is part of a national goal to cover 1 crore houses, where Andhra Pradesh currently ranks fourth in total installations.
