AP sanctions 17,912 houses under PMAY-Urban 2.0 at Rs 4,478 mn

Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned 17,912 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 beneficiary-led construction scheme for 2025-26 and 2026-27 at a project cost of Rs 4,478 million.

Housing special secretary Hephsiba Rani Korlapati said each house has a unit cost of Rs 0.25 million. Government of India gives 60 per cent, or Rs 0.15 million, and state government bears 40 per cent, or Rs 0.10 million.

Central Sanctioning-cum-Monitoring Committee of ministry of housing and urban affairs considered 893 houses for 2025-26 at Rs 220 million, 4,649 houses for 2025-26 at Rs 1,160 million and 12,370 houses for 2026-27 at Rs 3,090 million.

Beneficiaries will meet any additional cost beyond the sanctioned unit cost. Sanctioned assistance covers construction up to the specified unit amount and does not cover upgrades or extras.

Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation will coordinate beneficiary lists and disbursements. Local urban bodies will assist in verification and ensure construction follows approved specifications.
