Anantnag Reviews Model Solar Village Project

Officials in Anantnag recently reviewed the project report for the Model Solar Village scheme under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. This project turns Gopalpora Kalan into a renewable energy hub with a 103 KW capacity at an estimated cost of ₹1.03 crore.

## Solar energy plans

The plan includes installing rooftop solar systems for fruit processing units, apple grading lines, and local government schools. These systems have battery storage to provide up to 3 hours of backup for important community services. By using clean energy, the government wants to lower electricity costs and support rural development. Each selected village in the country gets ₹1 crore in financial support to set up these green energy solutions.
