AIDWA Protests Over Annapurna Yojana Beneficiary Exclusion in Siliguri

Members of All India Democratic Women's Association held a protest march in Siliguri on 25th August 2026. The group marched from Baghajatin Park to the Siliguri Municipal Corporation office. They raised concerns about the exclusion of eligible women from Annapurna Yojana and other welfare schemes.

Concerns about scheme coverage

Protesters claimed that many poor women are not getting government benefits. They said errors in the beneficiary list are the main problem. A five-member group met with municipal officials to ask for a faster checking process. Municipal authorities assured the group they will take steps to fix these problems. They promised to make sure all real applicants get included in the scheme.
