43 Families to Get Homes in Karchhana Under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana

43 poor families in Karchhana block of Prayagraj will get land and ₹1.2 lakh housing help to build permanent homes under Mukyamantri Awas Yojana. A housing colony is being set up on four bighas of land in Mungari village.

Every family will get a 20x50-foot land lease. The ₹1.2 lakh will come in three instalments of ₹40,000, ₹70,000 and ₹10,000. Eligible people will also get wages for 90 days of work at ₹300 per day, which adds ₹27,000. Together the housing help and work support come to ₹1.47 lakh per beneficiary.

The families are mostly from tribal and Scheduled Caste communities, including the Kol and Dharkar communities. District Rural Development Agency project director Bhupendra Singh said the land has been marked out and all 43 families have been picked. Work will start once the land lease process is done.

The colony will have paved roads, solar streetlights, drainage, drinking water, a children's park and an open gym.
