Central government approves proposal to provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,504.83 crore for Urban Housing Projects under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in Jharkhand. Possession of 32,370 houses is already being given to the PMAY-U Beneficiaries in the state. Now, the total assistance will be Rs. 78,008 crore under PMAY (U).
Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri had given this information on 19 July 2018 in Rajya Sabha in reply to a question from MP Parimal Nathwani.
As per the official statement, there are total number of 10,371 housing project proposals which are under consideration of which 330 are in Jharkhand and 332 are in Gujarat. Central govt. has already released assistance worth Rs. 27,653 crore which includes Rs. 975.06 crore to Jharkhand and Rs. 2672.66 crore to Gujarat.
Rs. 25000 Cr. Assistance for Jharkhand Urban Housing Projects under PMAY U
Central govt. has completed construction of total 5,94,010 houses across the country. This includes 34,417 houses in Jharkhand and 97,513 houses in Gujarat. PMAY Beneficiaries have already occupied 5,26,496 houses across various states of the country. These includes 32,730 houses in Jharkhand and 84,931 houses in Gujarat.
MP Nathwani wanted to know more about the govt’s plans to increase financial assistance to the States. He also wants to get info. on assistance for housing projects for urban poor and progress of housing schemes for urban poor. Minister said that there is no such proposal till date to raise the financial assistance to the states for housing projects of urban poor.
Around 1,69,527 total houses are involved in Jharkhand under the scheme of which 86,236 houses are already started. Around 2,73,050 total houses are in Gujarat and 1,85,535 houses has already been started. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) at the national level, there are a total number of 51,10,382 houses of which construction of 26,12,460 has been started.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban – PMAY (U) under mission mode since 25 June 2015. Govt. aims to provide all weather pucca houses with basic amenities to all eligible urban households by FY 2022.
