Objective of Scheme
The Punjab Silage Baler cum Wrapper Machines Subsidy Scheme will help fulfill the demand of green fodder throughout the year. The farmers in the state faces a surplus of green fodder in some months while shortage in some other months. By increasing the area of green fodder, the scheme will eliminate the shortage of green fodder for animals.
Till now, the silage made from green fodder by the farmers in traditional ways was not easily transportable or storage-able. However, with these new advanced machines, the farmers would be able to wrap and store the silage for a longer time and can transport it easily from one place to another in the form of bundles.
The machines wrap and pack the silage in bags and tubes which can easily be transported to small, landless farmers, urban dairies and green fodder deficient states.
