Punjab government has announced to start Free Electricity Scheme for common citizens from 1 July 2022. The ruling AAP government has announced 300 units of free electricity after completing a month of governance in the state. In this zero power bill scheme, all the domestic consumers and tenants would get 0 power bills on usage of upto 300 units of power. Around 90% of families in the entire Punjab state will get the benefits of Free Lifeline Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme. Punjab Free Electricity Scheme 2024

The ruling AAP government in Punjab has announced 300 units of free electricity from July 1, after completing a month of governance in the state. CM Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab govt. will provide 24 hours power supply to its citizens. The state government’s zero power bill scheme will remain applicable for all consumers utilizing up to 300 units of electricity irrespective of their power load.

Punjab Free Electricity Scheme 2024 is a major contributing factor towards energy conservation and govt. has chosen to take the financial incentive approach to promote the conservation of energy. Approximately 90% of households in Punjab would be able to avail the benefit of free electricity scheme.

Punjab Zero Power Bill Scheme Announcement

In the run up to the assembly elections, AAP Party had earlier announced to provide free electricity upto 300 units to Punjab citizens. Now the newly elected CM Mann met Delhi CM (AAP Supremo) Arvind Kejriwal on 12 April 2022 to discuss the scheme of providing free electricity in Punjab for up to 300 units, informed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sources. On 16 April 2022, CM Mann has announced to provide 300 units free electricity and the new scheme will become functional from 1 July 2022.

Providing free electricity to every household for up to 300 units was one of the major promises made by AAP in Punjab in the Assembly elections that concluded in March 2022. CM Mann even rolled out a doorstep ration delivery scheme in the state last month which was also AAP’s key campaign agenda in the polls.

Punjab Free Lifeline Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme in Hindi

पंजाब सरकार ने राज्य में नागरिकों के लिए बिजली बिल माफी योजना 2024 को शुरू करने का फैसला किया है। जिसके तहत जो भी बिजली उपभोक्ता प्रति महीने 300 यूनिट तक बिजली इस्तेमाल करता है उसको किसी भी तरह का बिजली का बिल नहीं देना पड़ेगा। पंजाब फ्री लाइफलाइन बिजली योजना को प्रदेश में 1 जुलाई 2022 से लागू कर दिया जाएगा।

मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान ने बताया की इस सरकारी योजना से राज्य में लगभग 7.3 मिलियन घरेलू बिजली उपभोक्ता लाभान्वित होंगे, जिनको पंजाब मुफ्त बिजली बिल योजना 2024 के अंतर्गत 300 यूनिट तक फ्री बिजली मिलेगी। पंजाब फ्री लाइफलाइन बिजली योजना प्रदेश में लगभग 90 प्रतिशत लोगों को लाभान्वित करके उनकी आर्थिक सहायता करेगी।
