Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is all set to be launched in Uttarakhand today by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State, Petroleum and Natural Gas. The scheme for distribution of free LPG connections to BPL women will be launched from Ramleela Ground, Ganesh Bazaar, Srinagar, Puri between 11 AM to 1PM.
Some other ministers of state will also be present at the venue to witness the launch and distribute free LPG connections.
Under the Ujjwala Yojana, the central government aims to provide free LPG connections 5 Crore women belonging to BPL households in the country by the year 2019. The central government will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 1600/- to each eligible BPL household to purchase the connection.
Initially launched on 1st May, the second phase of the scheme was launched on 15th May in Gujarat by BJP president Mr. Amit Shah.
