Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to provide skill training to about 9000 youths in the current financial year. The government of the state is aiming at providing training to 9000 youths with at least 70% employment guarantee. PMKVY is a flagship skill training scheme of central government launched by PM Narendra Modi.

The state government with the skill training under PMKVY aims to enhance the skill set of youth and make them employable. The state has been suffering with low education level after the introduction of no detention policy. The training under different skill sets would be provided to youths at different PMKVY training centers across the state. Under the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a total of 221 courses and job roles across 34 industry verticals are being offered. The last list of PMKVY courses was finalized on 16 December 2016 when the courses were reduced to 221 from 577 earlier.

The youth who successfully completes the skill training and assessment would be financially rewarded by the central government. The financial reward amount is different for different courses and job roles.
