Ladli Laxmi Yojana to be Implemented in Rajasthan

First Introduced by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2007 for empowerment of girl child will soon be implemented in Rajasthan.

The Ladli Laxmi Yojana has already been implemented in many states including Delhi, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Bangladesh have also appreciated the scheme and has sought information regarding this.

According to sources, about 22 Lakh girls are being benefited from the scheme in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

What is Ladli Laxmi Yojana

Under Ladli Laxmi Yojana, the state government purchases National Savings Certificate of Rs 6,000 each year for five years and these would be renewed from time to time. The certificates are purchased in the name of a girl every year after her birth. The beneficiary girl is given some amount upon admission in different standards as mentioned below:

– INR 2000 at the time of girl’s admission in the sixth standard
– INR 4000 at the time of admission in ninth standard
– INR 7500 when she gets admitted in the 11th standard

During higher secondary education of the girl, she would get Rs 200 every month.

And, on completion of 21 years, the remaining amount which would be more than Rs 1 lakh is given to the girl.
