Brand India Mission 2021 is going to be launched by the central government soon. This Mission Brand India will focus on promotion of quality products which are manufactured locally in the country itself. The new has been piloted by Sh. Piyush Goyal led Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Brand India Mission is based on similar policies in other countries like United States of America, Switzerland, France, Germany. These countries regulate claims made to goods produced in their jurisdiction.
Brand India Mission 2021
The Brand India Mission is linked to the extent of local production with countries such as Switzerland offering the tag to service sector companies if they are headquartered there. In case of food products, the requirement is 80% local production. Sh. Piyush Goyal plan is being discussed with the Quality Council of India and other agencies last week. The central govt. is looking at country of origin certificates. It would be voluntary with self-certification to be vetted by certain entities. It will be applicable to natural as well as manufactured goods.

These plans under Brand India Mission is still to be firmed up. After border tension with China, Indian government has shifted to an Atmanirbhar Bharat strategy.
