Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to launch a family health insurance scheme to provide health insurance cover to whole family. The scheme will be launched from January 1st 2017. The state government would provide health insurance cover to whole family with a premium of just Rs. 100.
According to the CM of Andhra Pradesh, the state will the the first to introduce such scheme in the country. The best global practices will be used for the insurance scheme. According to the CM, WHO, Bill Gates Foundation and some other noted health organizations will be involved in the scheme.
The necessary allocations for the scheme would be announced in the next budget. The scheme enrollments and premium collections have to be done within the 2 months after the launch of the scheme. The process would cost about Rs. 160.56 Crore to the state.
More details such as covered diseases, empaneled hospitals and other details about the scheme would be available ony after the launch of family health insurance scheme.
The Chief Minister also launching Swasta Vidya Vahini at 222 places to provide nutritious food to students in the state on December 24.
