Maharashtra cabinet approves allotment of grazing land and plots belonging to self governing bodies for construction of houses under PMAY Affordable Housing Scheme, decision to lead to more land availability under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Maharashtra cabinet has given its nod to the allotment of grazing land for PMAY Affordable Housing Scheme on 13 November 2018. Now grazing land and plots belonging to local self governing bodies can be utilized for construction of affordable housing under PM Awas Yojana. This decision will lead to more availability of land for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Maharashtra.

As per the CMO officials, the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act and the Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Industrial Townships Act would be amended for this purpose.

After this decision, the “Housing for All” scheme will be implemented in a speedy manner to provide own shelter to all homeless people in the state.

Allotment of Grazing Land under PMAY Scheme in Maharashtra

As Maharashtra cabinet has decided to remove land availability hurdles, CM asked to speed up works for PMAY Urban Housing Scheme. Allotment of grazing land and plots belonging to local self governing bodies for the purpose of construction of affordable housing under PM Awas Yojana will boost PM Awaas Yojana.

This decision will bring in more land to implement PM Narendra Modi’s vision for housing to all homeless by 2022. CM also asked to complete Akola Water Supply Scheme by November 2019.

PMAY-G housing scheme status as on 13 November 2018, a total number of 9769 houses got completed out of the total target of 18,836 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.

Maharashtra Cabinet on Anganwadi Workers & Helpers Age Limit for Retirement

Maharashtra cabinet has also approved the proposal to raise the age limit for retirement for the anganwadi workers and their helpers from 60 years to 65 years depending on their fitness.

According to CMO officials, all the anganwadi sevikas will have to submit a health certificate on attaining the age of 60 years. After the health certificate is submitted, govt. will approve extension in service for anganwadi workers, assistants and mini anganwadi workers. This extension would be given for the upcoming 3 years and then for 2 years.
